Christ is the cornerstone the builders have rejected at their peril. Every culture is based on a cult or a religion. Western civilization evolved out of Greek philosophy and the ethics of both Judaism (the ten commandments) and the beatitudes of Christ's sermon on the mountain. Western liberal democracies have also grown from the same roots. When the cult is abandoned, the culture goes with it. And these are perilous times, indeed. Hence, the loss of civility, tolerance, and rational debate.
