Looking at the rainfall for Utah, it's been about half of the 10-year average for 4 out of the last 5 years. American is certainly losing a large area of viable farmland. If that lack of rain continues as a trend then I think it would make the majority of the east coast unviable for human habitation within 50 to 100 years. Whatever you might think about climate change and its causes, this is going to have a huge effect on things. Unless the population drops enormously over the next 50 years. I can't imagine what would cause that though............
