Julian Assange's father John Shipton collected the "Cologne Karls Prize for Engaged Literature and Journalism" granted to his son Julian by the NRhZ-Online media in front of Cologne Cathedral on Friday.

Shipton displayed the prize with honour alongside the second prize winner event manager Sabiene Jahn, as people cheered.

"It is now 26 prizes for journalism that Julian has received and this is because the information that he gives, that WikiLeaks give, is vital to the people who hear it. That's us, you and me, and everybody here, and our mothers and fathers and children. The information that Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks bring to us is vital for our existence and freedom," Shipton said.

The life-size itinerant sculpture "Anything to say?" by Italian sculptor Davide Dormino was also on display in front of Cologne cathedral as part of its global tour celebrating Assange, and whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning.

"It's a monument to courage," Dormino explained. "I represent it on three chairs, three contemporary heroes that are still alive because usually the monuments are for the dead people but they are alive and they changed completely the idea of the journalism. The story of WikiLeaks is very powerful," said Dormino.

The monument has been exhibited internationally in cities such as Berlin, Dresden, Geneva or Paris and will be standing in front of the Cologne's Cathedral from Friday, October 16th to Sunday 18th.
