Had the batteries uprated and limiter switched off and now does 45mph. A little hairy at that speed because its a road bike with no suspension so have to avoid pot holes and it makes your vision blarey. Good fun though. This is the 2013 model and it also holds a world record Hill climb called Strava com.

I put a Tongsheng torque sensing mid drive onto my 25 year old Raleigh hybrid and it's great for acceleration and hill climbing but I don't have it geared for speed. Gets 60miles range no problem on pedal assist and I've seen 35mph going down big hills not pedalling. Then wind resistance seems to be the main factor. Mine is legal though, mostly, I did turn off the 15mph assistance limit. Speed wise my spare non-ebike hybrid is actually faster geared so faster on a flat but not when accelerating or up hills.
However if the owner of the Bike lives on a group of islands historically known as Britain and has no 'Joinder' with the UK. then it is perfectly lawful to travel using this conveyance.
All that speed on a machine that was never designed to take that sort of punishment?
Flimsy, spoke rimmed wheels and tyres at 60 mph?
I shudder to think!
