I've been reading The Golden Bough by James George Frazer, the famous Scottish anthropologist 1854-1941. Frazer tells us that primitive societies practiced magic rituals in order to allay anxieties about death and other misfortunes. There were magicians in these societies but not priests and there really wasn't any religion as such in this Age of Magic. Magical practice was based on two principles, the Law of Similarity and the Law of Contagion. The Law of Similarity meant the association of ideas based on similarity. So, for example, if a barren woman wanted to conceive a child, she migt make a wooden effigy of a child and cradle it in her lap. The effigy would be a kind of charm. Charms brought about positive results whereas taboos warded off negative results. In parts of Italy, woman were forbidden to bring a spindle anywhere near crops, the idea being that the movement of the spindle is similar to the movement of a whirlwind which would destroy the crop. Eskimos forbade boys to play the game of Cat's Cradle as this was associated with the idea of having one's limbs caught up in a fishing net which might happen to the boys when they grew to an age when they could go out to sea on fishing expeditions. The Law of Contagion meant that the things connected to one's person (hair, teeth, fingernails, the umbilical cord, clothing, weapons) were forever connected with one's person even at a distance and throughout time. Often, for example, the umbilical cord might be thrown high up into a tree and this would mean that the child would grow up to be a good climber of trees. Or if thrown into a lake, a good swimmer. This law of contagion could also be useful not just for a blessing but also for a curse. Hence the voodoo doll and a lock of hair or even a piece of the intended victim's clothing. I am also wondering if, now that we have abandoned religion, we are, in fact, regressing to the primitive age of magic or even of science (or scientism) as a form of magic or magical thinking. Thus, the rituals of masking up, hand sanitizing and social distancing will over time evolve into various charms and taboos. The PCR and lateral flow tests might be considered the conferment of a charm on the individual who tests negative and who can proceed to board the aircraft. It is, however, taboo to board the craft if one is deemed to have tested positive. The positive individual must then enter into voluntary purdah or seclusion until the next test which may prove negative. Vaccination is the ordeal of purification and will, from a globalist perspective, only be truly successful if the world's entire population is vaccinated. Inevitably, the unvaccinated will be considered beyond the pale, ghettoized or scapegoated. The problem arises if new mutant strains of the virus require new tweaked vaccines. This may well lead to a hierarchy among the vaccinated themselves rather like attaining military medals for engagement in various campaigns. Imagine one's status among the elect if one has been vaccinated against Covid19, the Indian strain, the Burma strain, the Gallipoli strain, or, inevitably, the Martian strain. (to be continued) AITCH-OO!!
