Hilary OHare of Brain Fart Productions is a machinist, which requires her to keep her long hair up all day. Nothing on the market could do that without pain and falling out, so she invented Holdilocks™. Hilary says, “It works perfectly plus so much more!” She has inventory and has applied for a non-provisional utility patent application. She is current in discussions with a DRTV feeder company.

In this interview with inventRight cofounder Stephen Key, Hilary discusses how she commercialized her product. She describes 3-D printing her invention for proof-of-concept. She made a sell sheet, but admits that her product requires a demonstration to be fully understood and that marketing is an ongoing challenge. She attended a trade show in September of this past year, right after her she received her first round of inventory, and describes the volume of work required and the challenge of standing out. She describes finding a manufacturer, the minimum amount of product she had to purchase, selling online, and more.
